Police searching for hit-and-run driver

Posted on April 13th, 2010 No Comments

A 4:30 a.m. crash this Sunday left three vehicles in flames and a 62-year-old taxi driver dead on his birthday. The taxi cab driver, who was an immigrant from Latvia, was so badly burned that police could not at first determine his gender.

A Dodge Caravan with Oklahoma license plates plowed into the taxi cab at 21st Ave. and 65th St., sending both vehicles crashing into nearby parked cars and knocking down a tree. Three of the vehicles burst into flames.

The driver of the caravan fled the scene on foot and has not been found.
