Cyclist struck and killed by car

A 24-year-old female cyclist was killed after being struck by a car in Boston.

Officials have said that the incident was an accident and that the driver has not been charged with any criminal charges.The woman was rushed to the hospital where she was later pronounced dead after suffering severe head trauma.

Bicycling advocates in the area are working to push the importance of bike safety such as wearing the appropriate gear while riding. The city is also working to get a system of bike lanes on the roadways in order to protect bikers by allowing them their own lane away from cars.

Bicycle accidents can cause serious injury, our thoughts are with the friends and family of the victim.
